Eddy Doran has a long history of providing quality entertainment to a wide range of audiences. He began taking piano lessons at 5 years of age and studied classical piano for over 10 years as a child. At age 17 he was accepted at the internationally renowned Interlochen National Music Camp where his interest in Jazz and other contemporary forms of music developed.
During his last year of high school, Eddy got his first “piano bar” gig at the hometown Holiday Inn piano bar which would launch and shape his solo piano/vocal career for over 20 years. Eddy adopted Chicago as his hometown in his late 20s and found himself performing on the famous “Rush Street” scene for years, further developing his unique blend of standards, contemporary pop, jazz and Chicago blues. He had his own variety band in Chicago for years that played for many dignitaries and high level events for various organizations in Chicago. He promoted the famous “chick singer night” on Rush Street for 2 years on Tuesdays where all the best lady singers in Chicago sat in with Eddy’s band and packed the house on those nights.
In later years, Eddy moved to San Diego, CA where he was the inaugural act at the new Hyatt Hotel downtown. He also brought together another light jazz act performing at the hotels and social events throughout Southern California. He then moved to Mexico where he performed on a more limited basis while building a technology company there.
Eddy Doran has played with many different bands with styles ranging from rock and roll, blues, to light and standard jazz. As a solo artist, he brings a smooth soulful voice to join with his rich piano style, calling out for the attention of the listener. He not only is a musician…he is an “entertainer”… knowing how to reach out to his audience and interact with them.
Eddy is now living in Panama City, Panama and developing his own businesses there including a music production company. “Jupiter Productions” is available to represent artists, produce shows and events, or produce studio recording.
